To earn a diploma from Lovett, students must earn 22 units (one semester = ½ unit) and meet the following requirements:
Specific courses required of all students:
English 9, English 10, American Studies, and English 12.
Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and at least one course beyond Algebra II.
Students who enroll in Geometry, Geometry Honors, Algebra II, or Algebra II Honors in 9th grade will receive placement credit for their Middle School Algebra I and Geometry classes. Students who enroll in Algebra I in Upper School must pass that class in the Upper School to receive graduation credit and move into Geometry. All students must complete at least three units of math in the Upper School.
Must include Biology and Chemistry.
*Note:The University System of Georgia requires four years of science. Eighth grade physical science at Lovett counts as one of the four years.
European History AP or Modern Global History (one unit) and American Studies (one unit), plus two additional semester long history courses.
Through level three of one language, including at least two levels in the Upper School.
One year (two semesters), taken in Grade 9.
One year (two semesters).
One year (two semesters), one semester of which must be Old Testament, New Testament, World Religions, Introduction to Religious Studies, or Theology of Calling.
