- 115 - English 10 Honors
Prerequisite: 100 - English 9 or 105 - English 9 Honors, application, and departmental recommendation
All English 10 Honors students read intellectually stimulating texts, such as Orwell’s 1984, Dickens’ Tale of Two Cities, and Kafka’s Metamorphosis. Other modern global selections such as Achebe’s Things Fall Apart may also be included. The focus of the writing in English 10-H is the development of individual voice, as well as practice in critical thinking about the literature. English 10-H students learn to speak effectively by presenting their ideas in the classroom setting. In addition, 10-H students complete a comprehensive project in second semester.
