FOTA is dedicated to fostering an awareness of the arts and supporting arts students and faculty, as well as promoting a cohesive fine arts community at Lovett.
The Art Show & Sale features the creations of the professional working artists who comprise Lovett’s Visual Arts faculty. Included is a diverse array of paintings, drawings, mixed media, photography, jewelry, ceramics, and more!
Two out of every three years, The Great Conversation offers the Lovett community the unparalleled opportunity to enjoy intimate conversation with many of Atlanta’s arts leaders over cocktails and dinner. The single largest fundraiser for the arts at Lovett, this event is unique in the Atlanta community and a “don’t miss” on the Lovett calendar.
The Spring Arts Festival - FOTA’s Week of the Arts, an annual event for the Lower School, is a hands-on, fun, interactive experience for children to explore photography, painting, sculpture, dance, and music. Unique talent from within the Lovett community—students, faculty, and alumni—is featured, along with a few special guests. The 2016 event brings a new twist: the traditionally one-morning event will be expanded to a week-long celebration of the arts, which will offer Lower School students and teachers a more comprehensive inside look at art in the making, involving Middle and Upper School students and teachers.
The Senior Visual Arts Exit Show provides a showcase for Lovett’s seniors to display samples of their work before graduating. Modeled on “exit shows” commonly held in colleges and art institutes, it features all forms of visual artwork including painting, photography, mixed media, and ceramics.
