SPRING Enrichment Offerings & Registrations

Everything You Need to Know

How do the children get to their enrichment classes?

Teachers are given a list of students who are signed up for Afternoon Enrichment activities. On the day that a child attends a class, he/she reports to the After School Activities Program (ASAP) instead of carpool and receives a snack there. All children are escorted to and from their Afternoon Enrichment classes by an ASAP staff member or the Afternoon Enrichment coordinator. Children remain with an adult staff member until they are picked up at carpool. Special arrangements can be made to coordinate individual escorts for children coming to an Afternoon Enrichment from a music lesson or tutorial. There is no fee for this service.

Where do kindergarten children go between dismissal and Afternoon Enrichment classes that begin at 3:30 pm?

Kindergarten children participating in an Afternoon Enrichment class that begins at 3:30 pm are permitted to stay in the After School Activities Program (ASAP) from dismissal at 2:00 pm until class begins. At 3:30 pm, all Afternoon Enrichment participants will be escorted to the appropriate class.

Swim Lessons – Frequently Asked Questions

When do swim lessons start?
Swim lessons will begin early spring.

How many days should my child participate?
As few or as many as you’d like! Lessons are offered Monday – Thursday at 3:30 pm and 4:15 pm. You can register for as many day and time combinations as you would like. Choose one day per week for gradual advancement or two, three or four days per week to master skills and increase cardiovascular endurance.

My child is 3 ½ - Can she/he participate?
No. A child must be four years old or older to participate in swim lessons at Lovett.

Can non-Lovett students take swim lessons?
Absolutely! Like all of our Afternoon Enrichment activities, swim lessons are open to both Lovett and non-Lovett students.

How does carpool pick up work?
For students in grades K-5, a staff member of ASAP will escort the group to the Lower School for pick up after the 3:30 pm and 4:15 pm classes. Please note that it will take about 15 minutes for the children to change clothes and walk to the Lower School, so please plan to pick up around 4:30 pm and 5:15 pm. Many parents prefer to observe the classes and pick up their child at the natatorium. To avoid Upper School carpool, please park in the parking deck on the back side of campus.

Why are some classes offered during only one session and not all year?

This is primarily due to the availability of facilities. The tennis, swimming and gymnastics enrichment classes must work around Lovett’s varsity and junior varsity practice and game schedules.

What happens in the case of inclement weather?

If the school closes early or cancels after-school activities, all Afternoon Enrichments will be cancelled. If that decision is made, parents will be notified immediately. In the case of cancellations because of weather, we will be unable to offer make-up classes or refunds.

How do I get receipts for childcare tax deductions?

To get a receipt, go to your master account in the registration system by clicking on a camp offering, then 'My Account'. At the bottom of the page, click on 'View Payment History.' Lovett's tax ID number is 58-0619038.
