Lovett Baseball Wins Another Georgia Dugout Club Division Tournament

Lovett followed up last week’s division winning effort by winning another division showcase this past weekend at LakePoint Sports. The Lions went 2-1 on the weekend with wins over Oconee County and North Forsyth to win the Jim Luck Division.
In the first game, Hayden Bernard earned a shut-out 11-0 victory over Oconee County tossing 5.0 innings only allowing one hit with four strikeouts. Bernard improves to 2-0 on the season. Robert Mitchell and Daniel Sams made their presence know at the plate. Mitchell went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI. Sams also garnered 3 RBI on 3-for-3 at the plate.
In game two, Lovett faced a tough Perry team which only gave up two hits to the Lions. Anderson Beavor earned himself a triple in the third inning, but it wasn’t enough to propel the Lions past the Perry Panthers who got the win 4-0.
Lions bounced back in game three of the weekend against North Forsyth winning 8-3. The bats were hot for the Lions as seniors Kai Cunningham and Will Prigge both hit solo home runs in this game. Earning the win on the mound was Conner Partin pitching four and two-thirds innings, striking out three batters, while allowing seven hits on three runs. Jack Steel got it done at the plate and on the mound earning a save by retiring the last seven batters of the game. Steel also went 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI.

This is the second division showcase put on by the Georgia Dugout Club the Lions have won this season.
Lovett moves to 5-2 on the year. Lovett is currently ranked the No.1 2A baseball team by PBR Georgia.
