Lovett’s Upper School is thrilled to welcome Dr. Brenda Wall, licensed clinical psychologist, as the newest member of the Upper School counseling team. Having recently moved to Atlanta from Texas to join our community, Brenda shared, “I am excited for this great adventure, and I am looking forward to being a part of such a stimulating, educational environment that is grounded in the values that are dear to my heart and work. Character opens the door to lives well lived; the nurture of intellect and creativity here at Lovett both demonstrate and develop that reality.”
Brenda has served as a leader in the Dallas/Fort Worth mental health community for more than three decades. Throughout her career, she has maintained interests in psychotherapy and counseling, higher education, and social justice.
Over her career, Brenda has had the opportunity to work with many different kinds of people in several unique situations: from work in television and radio to supporting those fairly and unfairly incarcerated; from work in private practice to pro bono work with the homeless; from work in the university setting to work in church ministry. Brenda expresses:
All of my past experiences have led me to this awesome opportunity to be a part of a progressive, inclusive community of learning. Social justice is my passion and empowering and developing others is my approach. This is such a pivotal time in history. Perhaps one focus that is often overlooked in the pandemic of COVID-19 and the related political and cultural upheaval is there is power in your life’s journey. When you value your journey and see its power being strengthened, it is easier to see others and value what they can contribute to your journey and to our world. As we journey together, I hope that I might be a resource which offers light to the important work of the Lovett Lions.
