WLSA Faculty Exchange Program

Written by Jessica Amador, Academic Affairs Projects and Events Manager

Lovett was excited to welcome Kim Pitt, Life Science Teacher, and Marcellino Nyar, Technology Teacher, from the Westville Boys’ High School in Durban, South Africa to our campus during the first two weeks of February. Kim and Marcellino
visited as part of the WLSA faculty exchange program Lovett founded in 2018.

During their
stay, our WLSA guests connected with students and faculty in each division, participating in opportunities like reading to Kindergartners and observing Middle and Upper school classes. They also met with staff across campus to bring back to their home school better knowledge of marketing, academic technology, college counseling and many other areas of school life. Kim and Marcellino were particularly impressed with Lovett's integrated teaching approach and the flexibility our faculty and students have to create high-level teaching and learning opportunities. We are so thankful to have had these very special visitors to our campus!

The Lovett School is an independent, coeducational day school where children from Kindergarten through Grade 12 find the courage to explore and the drive to discover.
