For his Eagle Scout project, Junior Jonathan Wolle constructed a new observation space for the beehives in Lovett’s organic garden, which is behind the Physical Plant. Upper School Spanish teacher Angela Mitchell shared, “Jonathan did a remarkable job not only for the school, but also for his Eagle Scout project.”
The beehives were installed by Nick Marshall ‘17 and Muhammed Dhanani ‘17 in 2017 as a Spanish VI-Honors project focusing on campus sustainability initiatives. The hives and equipment were provided courtesy of the Henagan Sustainability Endowment Fund.
Lovett believes that by educating our students for sustainability - developing their ability to understand how systems work, how things are interconnected, and how consequences flow from choices - we will help them become better thinkers, more creative problem solvers, and more engaged citizens.
