Allison Dick Blaisdell ’02
Allison is an artist and graphic designer. By focusing on layering and color, Allison creates visual spaces that captivate the viewer by invoking a memory, an energy, or a place that they have experienced. She works in both oil and acrylic, and often incorporates mixed media into her paintings. Allison is a Voyage Media featured artist.
A native of Atlanta, Allison is a proud alum of The Lovett School where she fostered a lifelong passion for the visual arts and worked in drawing, printmaking, photography, ceramics, and painting. She took a particular interest in painting, pursuing additional courses during high school and going on to major in Studio Art, with a focus in oil painting, at Wake Forest University. Allison focused on graphic design during her graduate studies, attending The Portfolio Center in Atlanta, where she developed her visual design skills and an appreciation for digital media. Her work, the Family Chair, won the 2010 Best Industrial Design Award at the National Student Show as well as the 2010 Platinum New Talent Award for Graphis.
After living and working in New York, Boston, and Washington, DC, Allison returned to Atlanta in 2017. Allison currently lives in Buckhead with her husband, Andrew, daughter, West, and two dogs, Maggie and Tullah.
