  Lara joined the Alumni Office in 2013, but has been part of the Lovett community since 1999. Prior to accepting the Alumni Director position, she was an assistant athletic director for nine years. In her first five years at Lovett, Lara served as an educational technology teacher. She also led the varsity girls basketball program for six seasons. Before Lovett, Lara worked at Turner Broadcasting System and as a recruiting coordinator and assistant women's basketball coach for Georgia Tech's Athletic Association. She received her B.S. in management from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Lara and her husband, Matt, have two children that attend the Lower School at Lovett, Shannon '25 and Leyton '28.

  Starr has been part of the Lovett advancement team since 2000, first in the Development Office (where her 10 years of banking experience came in handy) and now in Alumni Relations. In her new role, she works with Lara Kauffman to coordinate all alumni activities and programs, including Career Night, Run 'n Lovett, the Alumni Annual Fund, Alumni Homecoming Events and Reunions, and the Alumni Senior Luncheon. Starr has a B.A. from the University of South Carolina.
