Lovett School begins with Kindergarten. Though we naturally expand at Grades 5, 6, and 9, we welcome and encourage applications at all grade levels. Applications for different grades will have slightly different processes. See the expanding lists below for details.

Lovett uses an online management system called Ravenna for the entire admission process, including event registrations, submitting the application, and final decisions. Please use this link to create a profile for your family and start your journey with Lovett.

Applications for the 2021-22 school year are due February 1, 2021. You may also call (404) 262-3032 ext.1244 to schedule a phone or video appointment with an admission staff member.

Standardized Testing Update

Lovett accepts SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test) and ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam) scores, as well as a JATP evaluation (for grades 6-8). It is only necessary for your child to take one of these tests. Please visit iseetest.org, ssat.org, or jatp.org for more information and to schedule your child's test date. Scores must be submitted from a test date of the current school year.

Lovett's School Codes: ISEE (110185) and SSAT (4696)

Test scores should be submitted to The Lovett School no later than February 15, 2021. Please request that SSAT and ISEE release your scores to Lovett

SSAT Update

New this year, SSAT is offering three ways to take the test:

- Computer-based SSAT at home

- Computer-based SSAT at a Prometric Test Center

- Paper-based SSAT

All applicants to Kindergarten - Grade 5 are required to submit the following:
- Online Application (includes $95 application fee. If the application fee presents a financial hardship for your family, please call the Admission office at (404) 262-3032 x1244. We will be happy to work with you.)
- Parent Questionnaire
- Report Cards/ Transcript (Grades 1-5 only)
- Teacher Evaluation(s)
- Joint Admission Testing Program (JATP) Evaluation (Please visit www.JATP.org to schedule). JATP evaluation results must be received by February 15, 2021. JATP evaluation administration begins September 2020. Please note: If your child has had a Full Psychological Evaluation within the last three years, you may submit this in lieu of the JATP. Please contact Gopi Shammas, Associate Director of Admission for Lower School, for more information.
- Lovett Observation. You will receive more information about this assessment in December or after an application has been submitted.
- Parent Conversation. We are excited to introduce the opportunity for every applicant parent to connect with an Admission Team member this application season. To schedule your appointment, please call the Admission Office at (404) 262-3032 ext. 1244 or email admission@lovett.org. You may schedule at any time, even before you have submitted your child's application. These conversations will be randomly assigned to Lovett Admission Team members.

Middle School (Grades 6-8)

Relocating Families

Relocation can be an exciting, but stressful, experience. There are many reasons that you may be relocating and if your move involves children, it can be even more challenging. We are here to help you. We understand that out-of-town families may have scheduling constraints, and we hope to facilitate a smooth application process as well as give you the opportunity to visit our school. Please let us know your timeline well in advance so we can make the proper arrangements.

While it is certainly not necessary, many families relocating find that working with a local educational consultant can be helpful. If your family is relocating for business purposes, some companies offer to cover the cost of working with a consultant to ease the stress of the transition.

International Families

The Lovett School’s policy requires that any international student interested in attending Lovett reside locally with a parent, stepparent or legal guardian. The Lovett School is not affiliated with any international student programs that facilitate the admission process.

The Lovett School is a proud member of the A Better Chance organization. We are thrilled to assist your family through the admission process and encourage you to learn more about our school.

Students referred to The Lovett School through the A Better Chance organization are notified in November. Once referred, we encourage you to submit an application to Lovett through your Ravenna account.
