Computer Science Students Recognized by Carnegie Mellon University

Abby Newton '25 and Gavin Traylor '26, two students who took Computer Science in fall 2022, were recently recognized by Carnegie Mellon University for their creativity and award-winning excellence in the CMU Computer Science Academy Creative Task Competition.

The contest requires students to use creativity, logic, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to program a creative task that applies to what they have learned.

Both students submitted Lovett-themed games that are fun and challenging to play:

Abby's "Battle of Buckhead" celebrates the annual Lovett-Westminster football game.

Gavin's "Lovett Frogger" pits Lovett against our favorite rival schools before crossing the Chattahoochee River for the win.
