Members of the Lovett community share in mutually beneficial expectations, practices, and commitments to Culture and Community which allow us all to thrive. As an inclusively Christian school, we are a community rooted in love and belonging for all, with a profound respect for diversity, service to others, and moral awareness. We share the knowledge that we are richer given the unique and individual identities within our Lion family.

Our community wholeheartedly believes that Culture and Community significantly enhance the outcomes and experiences of and in a Lovett education, independent of their background and or identity. We recognize that striving to be a diverse and inclusive community is an ever-evolving imperative that requires empathy, a growth mindset, and skill.

The Culture and Community committee of the Board of Trustees exercises leadership to enhance ongoing practices to continuously improve our commitment to respect, affirm, and protect the dignity and worth of each member of our community.

Goal #1 

Ensure that demonstrated quarterly metrics for Culture and Community goals are in step with the lived experiences and expressions of Lovett families.

Engage in ongoing dynamic Board and committee self-study/self-work that maintains a mirrored culture and community expectation of inclusion and cohesion.

Review Lovett’s articulated and defined organizational a) structures, b) resources, c) policies, and d) mechanisms of accountability related to Culture and Community.

The annual Unity and Heritage Art Show started with the Hines Family back in 2001. The vision for this show has consistently been to open hearts and minds and create a platform for new conversations about Black historical contributions, social justice and equality issues, and important moments in world culture through the visual arts.
