Academic Resource Center Summer Programs 2007
This summer, four programs will
be available through the Academic Resource Center.
For rising sixth
graders:
"StudyBuddies Live," led by Kathy Kalnin and Lee Ann
Emerson, emphasizes review and reinforcement of basic skills in English,
math, social studies, and science. Students will have an introduction to
the Middle School format and the opportunity to preview textbooks. The
three separate sessions will go from 9:00 am to noon each day during the
weeks of July 16-20, July 23-27, and July 30-August 3. Download
registration form.
For rising seventh
and eighth graders:
Joni Janis leads students in "Study Skills for Success" during the week of July
30-August 2. Students
will explore strategies to strengthen reading, note taking, test-taking,
and organizational skills. Students will be grouped by grade level and
limited to six in each group. Sessions will be held for one and one half hours each day.

For rising ninth graders:
Stacie Penland
and Alice Empie will conduct "Fundamentals for Freshmen."
