Fast facts
- SAT scores for the middle 50 percent of the Class of 2007 were 580-700
critical reading; 590-690 math; 590-690 writing.
- All of Lovett's 2006 graduates were admitted to four-year colleges. The 146
members in the Class of 2006 filled out 692 applications with 486 (70 percent)
given accept status and 57 (8 percent) given wait-list status. Members of the
Class of 2006 were accepted by 151 institutions from coast to coast.
- In the spring of 2007, 229 Upper School students took 475 advanced placement (AP) exams in
24 areas. Eighty-six percent
of the exams were scored a "3" or higher. Most colleges and universities give course credit or advanced standing to
students who score a "3" or above on the AP exams.
- The Upper School offers 22 honors and 21 advanced placement courses.
- Each school division has mandatory weekly chapel services. These services
are understood from a Judeo-Christian perspective and expressed through a
Christian orientation.
- Foreign language instruction begins in Kindergarten and continues through Grade 12.
- The expansion grades for 2007-08 were Kindergarten (75 spaces), Grade 5 (approximately 20 spaces), Grade 6
(approximately 40 spaces), and Grade 9 (approximately 20 spaces). New students are admitted in other grades when
space is available.
- For the 2007-08 school year, Lovett received over 800 applications for approximately 200 openings.

- Students come from 11 counties in the metropolitan area.
- More than 90 percent of our student body participates in a Fine Arts
activity during the year, and more than 75 percent of students in Grades 7-12
are a member of a sports team.
- Tuition for 2007-08:
Kindergarten-Grade 5: $15,440

- More than $1.6 million in financial aid assistance was granted to students for
2007-08. Financial aid awards are not
given for the purpose of interscholastic competition (e.g., music, debate, athletics), but rather for demonstrated
financial need. Aid is awarded in Kindergarten-Grade 12
- The Lovett School offers an After School Activities Program for students in Kindergarten through Grade 5, and
an Extended Day Program for students in Grades 6, 7, and 8.
- The average faculty teaching experience is 15 years. Of the school's 232 professional staff,
131 have master's degrees and 9 hold doctoral degrees.
- Lovett freshman and sophomores are invited to apply to semester and
year-away programs to complement their Lovett education. Options include
Outdoor Academy, Swiss Semester, Maine Coast Semester, CityTerm, and The
School for Ethics and Global Leadership.
