Academics

Providing our students with a challenging, classical education will always be the focus of Lovett academics. Creative and critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and a love of learning are our major guideposts. Our curriculum focuses on the core subjects of mathematics, English, science, language, and history, but places great value on the arts and physical education, as well. The school's main goal will always be to ensure that each student is prepared for college and beyond.

By the example of enthusiastic teaching and their own continual learning, Lovett faculty model for their students the importance and pleasure of lifelong intellectual and creative growth. Lovett faculty average 16 years of teaching experience, and small class sizes ensure personal attention. Thanks to endowed funds established by generous donors, many faculty take advantage of summer learning opportunities to expand their knowledge in ways that help them to be better teachers upon their return to the classroom in the fall.
