Tuition and financial aid

Tuition for 2008-09 is as follows:

An education from The Lovett School is an investment in your child's future. We realize, however, that education costs are a significant financial commitment and may be a challenge for many families. For this reason, financial aid and financing options are available.

Financial Aid
More than $1.5 million in financial aid is granted each spring to students from all grade levels. Admitted students are eligible for financial aid based on their family's demonstrated need. Families currently receiving aid must submit an application each year. Families applying for financial aid for the first time should complete the Request for Financial Aid form that is included in the application packet.

In order to assess a family's financial need, the school will request specific information, including the previous year's Federal Tax Return with all attachments, Form 4506, and a Parent's Financial Statement (PFS). This PFS is a part of a system called the School and Student Service for Financial Aid.

Financial aid awards are not given for the purpose of interscholastic competition (e.g., music, debate, sports).

Financing Options
Several organizations offer financing plans to our parents who desire a tuition loan. For more information, click here.

General Information
The payment of tuition is a condition of enrollment; therefore, textbooks will not be released nor will students be enrolled in school until the first payment has been received in full. The balance due must be paid in full in order for a student to return to school after the winter holidays. Campus Store payments are payable upon receipt. For any student whose financial account is not paid in full, the school reserves the right to refuse that student admittance to class, to deny him/her the taking of examinations, to withhold report cards, and to refuse to graduate him/her and/or to transfer credits. Students whom the school permits to enroll in any program which necessitates their absence from the campus must pay the same tuition and meet the same tuition payment requirements as indicated in the enrollment contract, unless the student is granted a tuition waiver by the Headmaster.

All admission decisions are made independent of a family's ability to pay the full cost of education.
