Within every student, there is a scholar, an artist, and an athlete. There is a writer, a scientist, and a thinker. There is a leader, a citizen, and a friend. To what degree one's talents are unearthed depends in large degree on a child's education. At The Lovett School, ours is a whole education for the whole child. By providing a wealth of opportunities, a nurturing environment, and an atmosphere where all pursuits are celebrated, we're able to help each child grow in every aspect of his young life. The Lovett School seeks students from all ethnic, cultural, racial, and religious backgrounds who can benefit from a challenging academic program and make positive contributions to the school community. Students are admitted on the basis of school records, academic testing, interviews, and teacher recommendations. In addition, extracurricular interests and talents are integral parts of the admission profile. One of the factors considered in the admission process is the applicant's legacy status; siblings of children currently attending Lovett, children of alumni, siblings of alumni, and children of faculty/staff are considered legacies of The Lovett School.

Late Applications
Anyone submitting an application after the deadlines for the 2008-09 school year (January 11, 2008, for Kindergarten applicants; January 25, 2008, for Grades 1-12 applicants), or any applicant whose file was not complete by the published deadlines, is considered a Late Applicant, and will not be considered in the first round of admission decisions. We understand that there are circumstances in which a family might enter into the application process after the January deadlines. However, we must adhere to our deadlines in order to make and mail our decisions by the Atlanta Area of Association of Independent Schools notification date of Friday, April 4. Any application received after the January deadlines will be held until late April, when the admission office will determine if any grade levels have openings. If a space becomes available, we will contact late applicants for those grade levels and complete the process. If you submit a late application to Lovett, but later accept a space at another school, please let us know so that we can keep our late applicant files up to date. If you wish to complete a late application, please contact the Admission Office.

Our expansion grades for 2008-09 are listed below. New students are admitted in other grades when space is available.

• Kindergarten, approximately 75 spaces
• Grade 5, approximately 20 spaces
• Grade 6, approximately 40 spaces
• Grade 9, approximately 15 spaces
