Middle School activities
The Middle School's extracurricular opportunities encourage students to try something new and become
involved outside of the classroom. It is especially important during these formative years for students
to find a niche and become active participants.
Academic
Team Club
Do
you enjoy playing Jeopardy? Do
you like Trivia? Then Academic
Team Club may be for you. Compete
weekly against fellow middle schoolers in competitions requiring
knowledge, quick reflexes, and concentration.
This is your big chance to crush the opposition with what you
know! Boys will meet Mondays during lunch and girls will meet
Wednesdays during lunch. Also
you can compete after school on Mondays and Thursdays from
3:30
to 4:15 pm.

Flights
of Fantasy: Stories That Take You Away
Have
you ever wanted to journey to a land beyond time or see fantastical
creatures like unicorns, dragons or elves?
Join Mrs. Durand and Ms. Knott for Flights of Fantasy, an
adventure of mythic proportions. The
club will be a little different this year.
The first book club will be open to girls only,
grades 6-8. The second
book club will be open to boys only, grades 6-8. The third and fourth book clubs will be open for
anyone, grades 6-8. We'll
meet on Fridays during lunch (
12:15-1:50 pm), which is the same time we met last year.
If you are interested in joining us or recommending a book for
consideration, please contact us! We look forward to our fantastic
flights together!

Ham
Radio Club
The
Ham Radio club is composed of students with an interest in world-wide
communications using radios, computers, the internet, television, and
satellites. Anyone can be a ham.
Young people from 6 years of age to adults over 80 are licensed
radio operators. Our school
radio club offers a course of study to obtain the FCC Technician Class
of Amateur Radio license. The
Ham Radio Club meets for "on the air" communications and study,
and the club enters various radio contests throughout the year.
We have a club station with the call letters KF4OVF.
The Lovett Ham Radio Club will meet Tuesday mornings at
7:15
am in the "Radio Room" (Lab X).

Knitting
Club
Come
join us on Wednesdays from
3:30
to 4:40 pm to learn to knit or cross stitch. We will make scarves and
other gifts for yourself or for others for Christmas and the Holidays.
Everyone is welcome! All
you experienced knitters will help anyone who has never held a pair of
knitting needles. It is a great
opportunity to learn a new hobby while visiting with your friends.
Come one, come all.
