As an independent school, Lovett depends on private funding for its existence.
No gift is too small. Every gift is significant because it is significant
to the donor in intent and it sends a message of support of and a vote of
confidence in Lovett. All gifts to Lovett--treasure, time, talents--are
greatly appreciated.
The
Annual Fund
The Annual Fund is
Lovett's most critical need for investment--unrestricted gifts to help the
school meet annual expenses such as faculty salaries, new programs,
upgrades in technology, and financial aid. Tuition covers only 75% of
annual costs, and gifts to the Annual Fund help close the gap. Some gifts
to the Annual Fund are given as restricted, meaning the gift is earmarked
for a specific department or program.

Investing
in Lovett's Strategic Plan: Excellence in Learning, Character &
Community
Lovett's new strategic plan,
Excellence in Learning, Character & Community, gives priority to three projects:
- increasing endowment (specifically for faculty support and development, financial aid, and new program initiatives);
- building a new Middle
School (whose roof garden is shown below); and
- constructing three new athletic fields
(baseball, softball, and multipurpose) and their associated facilities.
Other initiatives, including a community center with visual arts and dining facilities and stadium renovations, would follow these initial projects. These initiatives were drawn from the school's planning efforts--a two-year process that involved 150 trustees, administrators, faculty, students, parents, alumni, and friends--that will serve as the basis for our school's future. The plan calls on Lovett's community to pursue excellence and leadership as it recommits to preparing students for college and for life.
