A Letter from the FOTA

Dear Friend of the Arts,

The talent being exhibited here at Lovett always amazes me. Whether it is chorus, dance, theater, band, orchestra or the visual arts, our students consistently exemplify a talent beyond their years. And why is that? I believe because we have, here at Lovett, a group of dedicated fine arts teachers who shape our children into becoming true artists. As one wise art teacher here said, "We teach our students to see."

And isn't that what we want for all of our children, grandchildren, and young men and women whom we care deeply about? We want them to learn to see the world around them through a more refined lens. The arts are an essential element in the development of that student who truly "sees" and experiences his world.

The sole purpose of the Friends of the Arts (FOTA) is to support the Lovett Fine Arts program through creative and financial donations, which ultimately help both the teacher and the student achieve their goals and sometimes their dreams! Every dollar FOTA raises is ultimately used to give our faculty and students the best we can provide, which ultimately takes our fine arts students from good to great to awesome!

I hope you have had the opportunity to attend some of our fabulous performances this year. Our students work hard all year to achieve the quality you have enjoyed at this performance and they are thrilled to showcase their talent and hard work.

We are able to accomplish everything we do because of the support of our members. Thankfully, we had over 470 member families this year! If you have not joined Friends of the Arts this year, we encourage you to join for the upcoming year. We also thrive because of our wonderful volunteer base. If you would like any information about becoming a member or a volunteer, please contact me at (404) 355-9140 or graylinda@bellsouth.net.

Sincerely,
Linda Gray
President
