The Great Conversation

This evening of artful discussion features intriguing guest speakers and is embellished by music and fine dining.

We will have about 20 individuals join us as "table hosts," and all are leaders in the arts, business, sports, entertainment, broadcasting and healthcare industries, to name a few. The experience is sure to stimulate your intellect and enliven your senses. And, most importantly, our children--through Lovett’s highly regarded fine arts program--will benefit from the proceeds.

The Great Conversation

The Capital City Club
Friday, February 24, 2012
7:00 p.m. reception, followed by dinner

As you may know, 90 percent of Lovett’s students are engaged in theater, music, dance, and visual arts programs, which broaden their cultural awareness and round out their academic, character, and spiritual education. At Lovett, the fine arts are a firm commitment to nurturing the “whole child.”

The Great Conversation is Lovett’s premier fundraising event for Lovett’s Fine Arts program. Your attendance and patronage will enhance student performances; allow for the purchase of costumes, instruments, and equipment; provide scholarships and supplement endowments for fine arts faculty.

The invitation and RSVP information are available via the links on the right.

FAQ

Q

How does the evening play out?

A

The conversation will function just like a friendly dinner, with a special conversationalist as the focal point of your table! Guests are able to select three conversationalists--based on availability and a first-come-first-served basis--and are seated at a table of choice. Conversationalists will talk with you about current events, their subject expertise, and respond to your interests. The dinner is set up to be a casual conversation--not a speech.

Q

How can I obtain tickets to The Great Conversation?

A

Tickets are now available; check the link at the top right of this page to purchase. At the time of purchase, you will be able to select three options for table seating, which will be determined on a first-come basis. Various sponsorship levels allow for priority seating. Please see the sponsorship information on this page. Additionally, if you are unable to attend yourself, please consider purchasing a ticket and allowing a faculty or staff member to attend.

Q

Who are the conversationalists?

A

They run the gamut from artists and television personalities to curators and authors. For a full list, see the invitation link at above right. Bios of the conversationalists are available there, as well.
