High Museum of Art
-
Thanks to the generous support of Friends of the Arts and the Lovett Parent Association, the High Museum of Art recently established a new partnership with The Lovett School. The three-year collaboration allows for unique access to the many resources of the High and further integrates visual arts into Lovett’s curricula. Lovett will now have access to the High’s special exhibitions, collections, programs, and Museum staff. During this affiliation, Lovett will receive the following from the High:
- free admission for students and chaperones for school-sponsored field trips, as well as free admission for students to attend lectures;
- discounted memberships for Lovett families for purchase at the High and special Family Nights (to be scheduled);
- student internships, career workshop participation, and access to the High’s catalogues in the Lovett libraries; and
- professional development programs for faculty designed to foster discussion and idea sharing to further integrate resources from relevant exhibitions into Lovett’s curricula.
Georgia Shakespeare

The Lovett School is the first and only school in Atlanta to have a formal internship program with the professional theater company, Georgia Shakespeare. Currently entering it’s 24th season, Georgia Shakespeare has been nationally recognized both for its theatrical work and its outstanding educational programs. Lovett faculty and alumni have been working both onstage and backstage with this company for a few years now, but the creation of an official internship program is a first for both Lovett and Georgia Shakespeare. Rising and current juniors and seniors and recent graduates have the opportunity to create a custom internship in carpentry, dramaturgy, stage management, lighting, sound, marketing, education, and more—depending on interests and background.
