The Dance Program is taught by Ms. Kadija Johnson, and is designed to introduce many styles of dance to the beginning student. In the Middle School, students are introduced to Swing, Hip Hop, Theater Dance, and Jazz Dance during a nine-week program. In the Upper School Dance Class, students learn different aspects of dance: fundamentals of technique (ballet, jazz, and contemporary), history and vocabulary, yoga and nutrition, and the choreographic process, along with Swing, Hip Hop, and Theater Dance. Upper school students also develop their performance quality by participating in the many performance opportunities that include the Hendrix - Chenault Theater for the annual dance concert, school assemblies, chapel services, Lower and Middle School student classes, the Spring Arts Festival, and outdoor performances in the Williams Plaza.
