Steve Franks

A veteran educator with more than 31 years of coaching and athletics administration experience, Steve Franks joined Lovett in 2004. Franks served as associate athletics director and director of operations for the athletics department at Vanderbilt University for 10 years. Prior to his time at Vanderbilt, Franks served as athletics director for The Marist School. Franks was part of state championship seasons as a coach of both football and baseball. He also served as dean of students and was twice named Georgia Baseball Coach of the Year. Franks has a master’s of education in administration and supervision and also holds the designation of Certified Master Athletic Administrator (CMAA) from the NIAAA.

Other: Five team and three individual State Championships on Lovett’s cross country and track teams, USA Track & Field (1996), Track & Field consultant for NBC Sports (1997-2000), Collegiate athlete and captain at the University of Kentucky (Track & Field and Cross-Country), Atlanta Track & Field Coach of the Year 2007, and 7 Time Region Coach of the Year. His wife is Kendra Sue and he is a Lovett 1994 graduate.
