Grades 6-12 Application Requirements:
Lovett Admission Application
- The Lovett School Admission application deadline has passed. Applications received after the deadlines will not be considered in the first round of admission decisions. Please contact the Admission Office if you have questions or wish to submit a late application.
- Student Questionnaire: A Student Questionnaire must be completed by the student and submitted to the Admission Office. Due Friday, February 3, 2012.
- Graded Writing Sample: One graded writing sample from the applicant's current school year should be sent directly to The Lovett School Admission Office. Due Friday, February 3, 2012.
- SSAT Test Results: The Secondary School Admission Test is a requirement of all applicants to Grades 6-12. Visit http://www.ssat.org/ssat/info/home.html to register. In order to be considered in the first round of admissions, your child must take the SSAT by the Saturday, February 4, 2012, test date.
- Official Transcript: Authorize the release of your child's official school record by signing the transcript release form and delivering it to the principal of your child's current school with the request that all records, including grades and recent standardized test scores, be sent directly to The Lovett School Admission Office by Friday, February 3, 2012.
- Teacher Evaluation Forms: Three forms are required; one by the current English teacher, one by the current math teacher, and one by your child's principal or counselor. Forms must be sent by your child's school directly to The Lovett School Admission Office by Friday, February 3, 2012.
- Student Interview: Upon receipt of the completed application, a student interview with a Lovett faculty member will be arranged by the Admission Office. You will be notified of your child’s scheduled time. At the interview, the applicant can ask questions about Lovett, and the
Admission Committee can learn more about the applicant. Each interview lasts approximately 30 minutes and, at the end, the applicant will be asked to write a short essay. Lovett personnel and parent volunteers will be available to answer questions and provide information to prospective parents. Applicants and their families should make every effort to comply with the appointment scheduled by the Admission Office as we cannot guarantee another appointment date or time. Observation times are Saturday, February 4, 2012, 9:00 am–3:00 pm, and Saturday, February 25, 2012, 9:00 am–3:00 pm.
All of the materials must be received by the Admission Office before your application can be considered; your child's application file cannot be considered if it is incomplete. Through the online application process, you can check the status of your child's application materials.
