Grades 1-5 Application Requirements:
Lovett Admission Application
- The Lovett School Admission application deadline has passed. Applications received after the deadlines will not be considered in the first round of admission decisions. Please contact the Admission Office if you have questions or wish to submit a late application.
- JATP Test Results: Lovett participates in the Joint Admissions Testing Program (JATP). Applicants for Kindergarten–Grade 5 are required to have a psycho-educational evaluation as part of the JATP. If you do not reside in Atlanta, please follow the out-of-town JATP guidelines. For more information, please visit the JATP website. JATP test results must be received by Friday, February 17, 2012.
- Report Card: Please submit either the parent copy of the applicant’s report card (covering last year and the first half of this school year) or the applicant’s transcript (download Grades 2-5 Transcript Release Form) to The Lovett School Admission Office (after January 1, 2012). Any teacher comments should be included. Not required for Grade 1 applicants. Due Friday, February 3, 2012.
- Teacher Evaluation Form: The confidential teacher evaluation form must be signed by a parent, submitted to and completed by the applicant’s current teacher, and returned directly to The Lovett School Admission Office. Download the appropriate form: Grades 1-4 Teacher Recommendation Form or Grade 5 Teacher Recommendation Form. Due Friday, February 3, 2012.
- Group Observation: Upon receipt of the completed application, a group observation session will be arranged by the Admission Office. You will be notified of your child’s scheduled time. This session provides an opportunity for Lovett to observe each applicant in a peer-group setting, and lasts approximately one and one-half hours. All Lower School observations will be held in the Lower School, and families are asked to arrive 15 minutes early to check in. Lovett personnel and parent volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and provide information to prospective parents.
All of the materials must be received by the Admission Office before your application can be considered; your child's application file cannot be considered if it is incomplete. Through the online application process, you can check the status of your child's application materials.
