The Religion curriculum includes courses in the literature of the Old and New Testaments, and courses that examine the relationship between religion and human life.
Students must complete one full year of Religion to receive the Lovett diploma; one half of the requirement (one semester) must be in Old Testament, New Testament, World Religions, Introduction to Religious Studies, or Theology of Calling. The other semester class may be chosen from this list of core religion classes, or it may be a religion elective.
Members of the religion faculty hold advanced degrees in theology and instruct the students in reading and researching sacred texts, as well as how to think critically in an attempt to see the connection between faith and life.
