Technology

The Lovett School strives to prepare well-rounded students who will be leaders and life-long learners in our ever-changing society. Lovett invests strategically in technology and people to support a rich and relevant learning environment for our students. In the classrooms, libraries, and online communities Lovett students use technology to research, evaluate, communicate, connect, create, collaborate, and most importantly, learn. High technology conduct standards and faculty that model safe and effective use of technology support our vision for 21st Century Learning.

Computer science, robotics, and computer literacy are strong components of education at Lovett and engage students in both structured and lateral thinking. These threads of instruction are available from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Computer science instruction focuses on programming and basic theory and challenges children to become creative problem solvers and to extend their computers' capabilities in novel ways. Robotics, standing on its own or integrated with science curricula, generates enthusiasm at all ages—students enjoy watching their creations move and interact in the real world. Our computer literacy efforts span the gamut from proper email etiquette to digital image and movie production, and are designed to endow students with a deep understanding of the digital world and their place in it.
