    Parent Night: Please join us tonight for Lower School Parent Night at 6:30 pm in the Hendrix-Chenault Theater.

    Student Service Council (SSC) sign-up for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders has begun. Teachers have sign-up sheets. Students may choose either the A-Day meeting @ 7:25 a.m. or Thursday afternoon 2:55-3:30. Groups meet twice each month. Meeting schedules and more information will be sent home after groups are established. Email questions to Mrs. Osborne, SSC Coordinator (mosborne@lovett.org).

    Bookstore: Lower School Bookstore will be open on Tuesday, September 7th. We have lots of fantastic items so come and take a look!

    SCHEDULE CHANGES
    If you are still considering a FALL semester schedule change, please remember that the last day to pick up a new class is Tuesday, Sept. 7. In addition, after this date student-initiated level changes (e.g. moving out of an honors class) will be allowed in rare circumstances only, and any dropped classes will be noted on the transcript as WF or WP. This deadline does NOT apply to teacher-initiated level changes. See Mrs. Little if you have questions.

    ALL STUDENTS
    Moving chairs in the dining room is NO LONGER ALLOWED.

    · ARC Day is for any Upper School student whowants to start the year off with effective organizationand study skills or needs help in a specific subject.Come to our first ARC DAY, Friday, August 27th during lunch.~ Location: Student Lounge

    STUDENT OPPORTUNITIES
    The annual Garden Hills Ice Cream Social is looking for Lovett volunteers to help with face painting, arts and crafts, games, etc. on Sunday, September 26, from noon - 5:00 p.m. (three hour shifts). Part of the proceeds from this event goes to fund a scholarship for a Sutton Middle School Student to attend Breakthrough Atlanta! See Mrs. Morris-Long if you're interested in helping.

    · Room to Read’s mission is to build schools and libraries in the underdeveloped countries for children who do not have access to good education. The program also provides the opportunity for girls to stay in school and equips them with the skills needed to succeed. Join the Room to Read Atlanta Chapter for the first ever annual Caterpillar Crawl 5K run or walk on September 25. Our goal is to get at least 100 participants from the Lovett community, so please come out with friends and family!

    · Are you ready for the GREEN STREETS CHALLENGE? Start making plans now to walk, bike, or carpool to school during the week of Sept 13-17.

    Attention all 9th graders come sign up for the Float, Spirit, and Powderpuff teams today. Sign up sheets are available on the 2nd floor bulletin board next to the study lounge.

    CLUBS:
    · Any group that is interested in presenting a club or organization at the Club assembly on Tuesday 9/14 must register with Mrs. Spencer by Thursday 9/9 end of school day. This needs to be done whether you are starting a club or are the leader in an existing club. It is how you will get time on the program and space at the sign up. Questions? See Mrs. Spencer.
